Our mentor
Greg Fleischut
Guitarist and Mandolin Player

Greg Fleischut is a versatile guitarist and multi-instrumentalist with a passion for helping students develop creative, confident musicianship. Specializing in bluegrass flatpicking and jazz, Greg also draws from a wide range of styles including pop, rock, country, blues, funk, and soul. He’s toured nationally as a sideman, performing at major festivals and venues such as Red Rocks, Forest Hills Stadium, Outside Lands, RockyGrass, and Hardly Strictly Bluegrass. Based in Los Angeles, he also works regularly as a session guitarist. Greg studied guitar at USC’s Thornton School of Music and graduated from CalArts. His teaching blends fundamentals with intuitive, genre-crossing tools drawn from jazz, Indian classical music, and bluegrass. He believes every student has innate musical ability—and with the right guidance, they can learn to play with freedom, clarity, and expression. As a teacher, Greg’s goal is to equip students with the musical tools and understanding they need to confidently navigate any playing situation.
